We can go through life questioning and asking why we have or have not been getting the results we desire. One of the best things we can do for ourselves is to look at our personal responsibility. What are we or are we not doing that has got us to this point? What are we or are we not thinking that has continued to keep us getting the same results?
There is a definition of insanity and that is “keep doing the same thing you have always been doing and expect to get a different result”. In order to get a different result we need to change what we are doing and thinking. The most effective way to do this is to look at who we are being. Ask yourself this question,” How would the person I want to be do what I am about to do?”
Another significant part of responsibility is personal accountability. The buck stops and starts with us as individuals. If we keep expecting others to keep us accountable are we also expecting them to produce the results for us as well. Are you really willing to hand over your destiny to someone else?
If you are struggling with personal accountability it is time to look at your motivating why. Why are you doing what you are doing, why do you want to achieve goal XY and Z. No one else can be your guru, only you can. No one else can control you or get your results for you. When you are willing to get clear on what you want and why you want it and become your own personal accountability partner your results will change.
It is time to stop expecting results outside of you and start looking inside for change. That is where all the answers are. Take the time to clarify your why and set yourself up a step by step plan. Reward yourself daily for sticking to your plan. Be ok with delayed gratification. Make any necessary corrections.
It’s now your time to become Self Reliant.
